If you love discovering unique handmade goods and supporting local artists, mark your calendar for Saturday, April 18th, 2026. I’m excited to share that I will be participating in the 3rd Annual Michigan Makers Spring Market, held at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace (formerly the Suburban Collection Showplace) in Novi, Michigan. This event brings together around 300 talented vendors under one roof, offering a fantastic opportunity to explore a wide variety of creative products and connect with the makers behind them.
Whether you’re searching for original artwork, handcrafted jewelry, home décor, or one-of-a-kind gifts, this market has something special for everyone. Plus, the first 200 guests will receive a SWAG bag that includes a sticker from me, Dani Shepherd Art, making it a perfect keepsake from your visit.
What to Expect at the Michigan Makers Spring Market
The Michigan Makers Spring Market is a vibrant gathering of artisans, crafters, and small business owners from across the state. With about 300 vendors participating, you’ll find a broad range of products that showcase creativity and craftsmanship. Here’s what makes this event stand out:
Diverse Selection: From paintings and prints to handmade jewelry, pottery, textiles, and more, the market offers a rich variety of items that reflect Michigan’s creative spirit.
Meet the Makers: This is your chance to meet artists and creators in person, learn about their process, and hear the stories behind their work.
Free Admission: Entry to the market is free, making it easy for anyone to come and explore.
Exclusive SWAG Bags: The first 200 visitors will receive a special SWAG bag, which includes a sticker from me, Dani Shepherd Art, as a thank you for supporting local artists.
Convenient Location: The event takes place at the Vibe Credit Union Showplace, located at 46100 Grand River Ave, Novi, MI 48375. It’s a spacious venue that makes browsing comfortable and enjoyable.

How to Make the Most of Your Visit
To enjoy the market fully, here are some tips and practical information:
Plan Your Visit Time
The market runs from 10 am to 5 pm, giving you plenty of time to explore. Arriving early is a good idea, especially if you want to be among the first 200 guests to get the SWAG bag. Early arrival also means you can shop before the crowd builds up, and you’ll get to check out my stock of new products, including exclusive shadow box designs and hand-painted wood canvases, before they get picked over.
Parking Details
Parking is available on-site for $10. While this is a small fee, it helps support the venue and ensures convenient access.
Bring Cash and Cards
Most vendors accept credit and debit cards, but having some cash on hand can speed up transactions and help with smaller purchases. Cash is also handy for parking.
Wear Comfortable Shoes
With hundreds of vendors to visit, you’ll be on your feet for a while. Comfortable shoes will make your experience more enjoyable.
Take Your Time
Don’t rush through the market. Take time to chat with vendors, ask questions, and appreciate the craftsmanship behind each item. This is a great way to connect with the local creative community.
Why Supporting Local Makers Matters
Shopping at markets like the Michigan Makers Spring Market has a positive impact beyond just finding unique products. Here’s why supporting local artists and makers is important:
Boosts Local Economy: Money spent at local markets stays in the community, helping small businesses grow and thrive.
Encourages Creativity: Supporting artists encourages them to continue creating and sharing their work.
Reduces Environmental Impact: Buying locally often means less packaging and transportation, which is better for the environment.
Builds Community Connections: Events like this bring people together, fostering a sense of community and shared culture.
By attending this market, you’re not only getting something special for yourself but also helping sustain a vibrant creative ecosystem in Michigan.
What You’ll Find at My Booth: Dani Shepherd Art
At my booth, you’ll discover original artwork and prints that reflect my passion for color, texture, and storytelling through visual art. I focus on creating pieces that bring warmth and inspiration to your home or office.
Here’s what you can expect from Dani Shepherd Art at the market:
Original Paintings: One-of-a-kind pieces that showcase my unique style.
Art Prints: High-quality reproductions of my work, perfect for gifting or decorating.
Stickers and Small Gifts: Including the exclusive sticker featured in the SWAG bags.
Shadow Boxes: A new product line, this includes many original designs, some integrating my paintings. I also offer a collection of nostalgia art - homages to some of my favorite TV shows throughout the years. I also have a line dedicated to honoring the Detroit sports teams.
Paper Crafted Bookmarks: These beautiful bookmarks are made of multiple layers of cut paper and assembled by hand. I use paper leftover from other projects, so it’s not wasted. This results in the bookmarks being unique, and almost no two are exactly alike.
Personal Interaction: I love talking with visitors about my art, sharing insights into my creative process, and hearing your feedback.
Free Hand-Painted Watercolor Bookmarks: While supplies last, I’ll offer a free hand-painted bookmark to each person who stops by my booth. I’m only bringing 100, so these may run out fast - another reason to come bright and early! I’ll also be painting some live, as time allows. Feel free to come see me paint and ask me questions about my processes.
Visiting my booth is a chance to find something truly special and support an independent artist.
